Yahoo Sign In

Yahoo Mail is a web-based e-mail service launched more than 20 years ago, in 1997, by the American Yahoo! Corporation. The service is available in 27 languages and has more than 200 million active users, who benefit from the 1000 GB (1 TB) of free storage, spam and virus protection, tools such as Calendar, Notepad, Contacts, Instant Messages, and Search, filters for incoming messages, an inactivity expiration date of 12 months (attention, once they have been deleted, accounts and their stored content cannot be retrieved – this is similar to Hotmail’s policy) and a 25MB limit for attachments.

The new interface of Yahoo Mail has a cleaner UI and a minimal feel, compared to the old one, and you can even style it with a variety of color themes. They also promise increased security measures that prevent future hacks like those which exposed over 3 billion accounts data.

How to sign in to Yahoo.com

Yahoo Sign In

You can sign in to your Yahoo email account from several devices:

Sign in to Yahoo from your computer (PC or laptop)

Unfortunately, on your computer you can only sign in from the webmail. There used to be a Yahoo app for Win 10, but it was discontinued.

  1. Open a new window in your preferred browser.
  2. Type https://login.yahoo.com in the address field and press Enter. You will be taken to the main login page for Yahoo Mail.
  3. Yahoo Sign In page

  4. In the right side of the page you will see a “Sign in” form. Enter your Yahoo email address in the corresponding field and click on the blue button labeled “Next”. The “Stay signed in” option will be checked by default, so if you do not want to remain logged in to Yahoo on this particular browser, you should consider unchecking it before clicking on “Next”. Note: instead of your entire Yahoo email address, you can simply write your username (what comes before “@yahoo.com”).
  5. Write the password for your email address in the corresponding field and click on the blue button labeled “Sign in”. If you forgot your password, click on “I forgot my password” and the password recovery process will begin. If you realize that you misspelled your username/email address, you can click on “Not you?” and you’ll be taken back to the main login page. If you happen to take too much time to type your password, when you do, an error message (“Your session timed out for security purposes while you were away… let’s try this again.”) will appear. Click on “Start again” and you will be taken back to the home page.
  6. When you successfully sign in to your Yahoo email account, you will be taken to the newsfeed page. If you want to read your emails, go to the top right side of your screen, and click on the envelope icon with the message “Mail” next to it.

Yahoo Sign In from your mobile device (mobile phone or tablet)

You can sign in using the mobile browser or through the Android/iOS app. For mobile browser, the procedure is identical to signing in from your computer browser:

  1. Open a new window in your preferred browser.
  2. Type https://login.yahoo.com in the address field and press Enter. You will be taken to the main login page for Yahoo Mail. If you type https://mail.yahoo.com you will be redirected to the login.yahoo.com page.
  3. In the center side of the page you will see the first part of the “Sign in” form. Enter your Yahoo email address or Yahoo username in the corresponding field and click on the blue button labeled “Next”. There is no option of unchecking the “Stay signed in” option. Yahoo considers that you would not have any reason to sign in to your email account from other people’s mobile devices, so it’s going to keep you signed in.
  4. Write the password corresponding to your email address in the field and click on the blue button labeled “Sign in”. If you forgot your password, click on “I forgot my password” and the password recovery process will begin. If you realize that you misspelled your username/email address, you can click on “Not you?” and you’ll be taken back to the main login page.
  5. When you successfully sign in to Yahoo Mail, you will be taken to your inbox, where you can delve right in to checking your messages.
